Here are the top stories in Toledo today:
- The Mercy Health mobile mammography van is visiting locations throughout Northwest Ohio. Patients are encouraged to check if Mercy Health-St. Charles Hospital accepts their insurance, and financial aid is available. (13abc Action News)
- Researchers at the University of Toledo will host a conference Thursday on Lake Erie's water quality. The study has been ongoing for 20 years, with emphasis on the dangerous algal bloom issues the region faces. (WTOL)
- The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department is accepting COVID booster walk-in appointments. Residents are still encouraged to schedule ahead of time and the clinic is located at the Lucas County Rec Center. (13abc Action News)
- The Lucas County commissioners announced a new dog shelter coming to downtown Toledo. The state-of-the-art facility will hold 140 dogs, with each room having an outdoor play area. (WNWO NBC 24)
- Washington Local Schools will switch to completely virtual learning district-wide for one day due to staffing issues. Superintendent Dr. Kadee Anstadt reports there have been 228 COVID cases already this year, more than the entire last school year. (WTOL)
