Here are the top stories in Toledo today:

  1. Dana Incorporated is gifting the Glass City Metropark and Riverwalk a $1 million donation. In addition to funding the park's Phase II construction, it will also help support the "Sustaining Our World Lecture Series" and a Maumee River cleanup effort. (13abc Action News)
  2. A portion of downtown has been named in honor of Louis Escobar, Toledo's first Latino and openly gay councilperson. Escobar was voted to the council in 1997 and passed away in August 2020. The sidewalk adjacent to Toledo's Love Wall will be named in his honor. (WTOL)
  3. Several cars in East Toledo last week were trapped by floods after Toledo experienced heavy rains. Residents have criticized the city for not ensuring the sewers can drain efficiently. (13abc Action News)
  4. Multiple COVID-19 cases have occurred in Perrysburg Schools as the school year began this week. Superintendent Tom Hosler stated two high school students, two teachers, and six elementary school children have reported cases. (WTOL)
  5. Two men have pleaded guilty for a home robbery that occurred on Upton Avenue last August. The third man involved in the crime died after all three were shot by the homeowner. (13abc Action News)
