Here are the top five stories in Toledo today:
- Toledo Police responded to a 16-year-old shooting victim who said two men jumped him in the 4000 block of Amsterdam Avenue on Thursday. A witness later stated that it was the victim who actually pulled out the firearm. (WTOL)
- Security footage has been released of a robbery at The Loonar Station in Cricket West Plaza around 3:41 p.m. Tuesday. A vehicle smashed through the shop's entrance and managers estimate $7,000 worth of goods were stolen. (WTVG)
- Metroparks Toledo is seeking volunteers for the Family Literacy & Book Fair on June 25 at the Glass City Enrichment Center site at 815 Front St. 40,000 books ranging from early readers through high school novels will be available at no cost to families. (WTVG)
- Toledo celebrates Juneteenth, beginning with Common performing at Promenade Park on June 17, several fairs and events on Saturday, June 18 and the Juneteenth Freedom Parade and Ceremony on June 19. (WTOL)
- The University of Toledo hosted an "aggressive intruder" training exercise on Tuesday at the Health Science Campus. The UToledo Police Dept. and UTMC emergency room personnel participated in the exercise. (Press Release Desk)
