Here are the top five stories today in Toledo:
- Toledo Police are investigating after 61-year-old Daniel Torres died after being shot in a drive-by shooting around 4:48 AM Sunday morning in South Toledo. The shooting occurred in the 1400 block of Beecham Street and over 50 shell casings were found at the scene. (WTVG)
- 35-year-old Wood County Jail inmate Christopher Michael Eldredge has escaped from the Wood County Hospital's emergency department Saturday afternoon. Eldredge reportedly stole a vehicle that was later found abandoned in Toledo. (WNWO NBC 24)
- A 33-year-old Toledo man has been arrested for shooting into a Bedford, Michigan hotel room around 11 PM Saturday at the Deluxe Inn on Telegraph Road. Security footage captured the crime and Toledo Police, Monroe County Sheriffs, and Lucas County Sheriffs all collaborated leading to the man's arrest. (WTOL)
- Voters in Springfield Township will decide whether to increase the presence of Lucas County Sheriffs Deputies in the area. Springfield Township does not have its own police force, which would reportedly cost double the $4.2 million levy that's proposed. (WTVG)
- The National Alliance On Mental Illness (NAMI) of Greater Toledo has opened a new facility on Secor Road across from the Toledo Clinic. Hours will run from 8 AM - 4:30 PM and a ribbon cutting ceremony will be held Friday. (WTOL)

- Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church on Hoag Street hosted an event Sunday addressing the problem of violence in Toledo. Representatives from the YWCA, NAACP, 100 Sistas, Explorer's Academy, Lucas County Children Services, and the Lucas County Commissioners were all in attendance. (WTOL)

- Gas prices are down in Toledo for the second week in a row. There was a 13.7 cents drop last week, with a 12.9 cent drop the week prior. (WTOL)
- Perrysburg will hold a public hearing on May 3 as to whether or not the Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) should be expanded. The proposal would increase the current DORA borders in downtown Perrysburg and create a new DORA for the entire Levis Commons mall property. (WTOL)
