🌱 EV Charging Stations On UToledo's Campus + Toledo Road Repairs

Good morning, Toledo! I'm back in your inbox this autumn morning with your fresh copy of the Toledo Daily. Here are all the most important things to know about what's happening locally, including:

  • The University of Toledo unveiled EV charging stations that can accommodate up to twelve vehicles at once.
  • The City of Toledo held a press conference highlighting its record-breaking year of road repairs.
  • Waterville City Council held its final public hearing to address the controversial amphitheater project on Monday.

Here are the top five stories in Toledo today:

  1. The University of Toledo has installed six new electric vehicle charging stations across campus. Each charging station can accommodate two vehicles, allowing for twelve EV parking spaces thanks in part to a $90,000 contribution from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. (WTOL)
  2. A murder warrant was issued for a 17-year-old suspect in the death of 29-year-old Dominick Barnett in July at the Hunter's Ridge Apartments. The suspect was already in the custody of the Lucas County Juvenile Justice Center on unrelated charges. (WTOL)
  3. The Firefly bar and restaurant on North Saint Clair St. near Fifth Third Field has announced it has been sold to new owners who hope to open a new endeavor in November. (WTVG)
  4. Waterville City Council held a final meeting to address the controversial amphitheater project on Monday at a public hearing. Proponents of the project say it will bring in business to the area with a venue that can hold more than 9,000 people. (WTVG)
  5. On Friday the City of Toledo held a press conference to close out its annual road repair projects. Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz spoke at the event and highlighted the city's breaking the local all-time record for road repairs. (WNWO)
