🌱 Fatal Attack In Upper Sandusky + 2 Hospitalized In S. Toledo Crash

  • A 53-year-old Toledo man was arrested by Monroe County Sheriff's Deputies in the 6200 block of S. Telegraph Road around 11:14 PM Friday for lacking a valid driver's license and having a loaded firearm as a convicted felon.
  • Bethel M. Bekele, 27, was arrested for allegedly killing Dollar Store employee Keris L. Riebel, 22, with a machete around 4:30 PM in Upper Sandusky on Sunday.
  • A car crash in South Toledo Monday night has resulted in the hospitalization of two victims.

  1. A 53-year-old Toledo man was arrested by Monroe County Sheriff's Deputies in the 6200 block of S. Telegraph Road around 11:14 PM Friday for lacking a valid driver's license and having a loaded firearm as a convicted felon. The unidentified man was booked into the Monroe County Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned at the 1st District Court. (WNWO)
  2. Bethel M. Bekele, 27, was arrested for allegedly killing Dollar Store employee Keris L. Riebel, 22, with a machete around 4:30 PM in Upper Sandusky on Sunday. Bekele reportedly turned himself in to authorities after parking outside the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office shortly after the murder. (WTOL)
  3. The entrance to the Brew coffee shop parking lot will be blocked by the construction on Secor Road that is scheduled to last 210 days beginning Tuesday. Brew can still be accessed through the University of Toledo campus near Bancroft and Dorr. (WTVG)
  4. Marcy Kaptur is the longest-serving congresswoman in history, having spent 40 years serving Northwest Ohio. Rep. Kaptur, along with other Midwest politicians, are advocating for "America's Heartland" as median household incomes are far less than wealthier coastal districts. (WNWO)
  5. A car crash in South Toledo Monday night has resulted in the hospitalization of two victims. A man and woman were transported to the hospital after the Jeep they were traveling in was struck by an SUV before then striking a pole near Western Avenue and Champion Street. (WTOL)
