Here are the top five stories in Toledo today:

  1. Issac Carpenter, 21, has died after being shot near Nebraska Avenue and North Miller Street Saturday night around 9:15 p.m. Carpenter was first transferred to an area hospital and Toledo Police determined the shooting took place in front of a house in the 900 block of Vance Street in Central Toledo. (WTOL)
  2. Avon Carter, 18, has been charged with felonious assault for shooting a man around 1:30 a.m. Monday in South Toledo. Toledo Police continue to investigate after a total of two men were shot at the Briarwood Apartments near Ryewyck Drive and Plum Leaf Lane during the incident. (WTOL)
  3. The children of fallen Toledo Police Officer Anthony Dia, who was killed in action on July 4, 2020, gave out 118 free hot dogs to the community in honor of his unit number. TPD Chief George Kral has pledged to help Officer Dia's family including his two sons and wife Jayme. (WTVG)
  4. East Toledo resident Marjorie Glass woke up Monday only to find thieves had stolen her catalytic converter and home security cameras. Glass stated she tried to contact Toledo Police, but was told it would be her responsibility to get down to the police station and file a report. (WTVG)
  5. Seven people were hurt in a car crash on State Route 2 near Lyon Road in Lucas County around 3:45 a.m. Sunday after a car went left of center. Ohio State Highway Patrol determined Edwin Cordova-Mendez, 18, of Annapolis, Maryland was driving a Honda Civic that struck a Chevrolet Equinox head-on. (WNWO NBC 24)
