🌱 Fire Destroys Briar Cliff Woods Apartments + Manhattan Blvd. Crash

Here are the top stories today in Toledo:

  1. A large fire at the Briar Cliffs Apartments off Airport Highway in South Toledo has resulted in 2 hospitalizations and 28 displaced residents. Toledo Fire & Rescue responded to the scene around 8:45 AM on Easter Sunday. (WTVG)
  2. A Black & White taxi cab was involved in a head-on collision in the 200 block of Manhattan Blvd. just after midnight on Sunday morning. The driver of a Ford Fusion crossed the center line, causing the crash, and was transported to the hospital. (WTOL)
  3. 26-year-old Kenneth Powell has been arrested after discharging a firearm, stealing a car, and then running it into a home and hitting a bystander. Toledo Police report the incident occurred after a fight broke out in the 800 block of Colburn Street and Powell has been charged with receiving stolen property and disorderly conduct. (WTOL)
  4. Toledo Police are searching for a man accused of breaking into Crestline Paving on Nebraska and stealing a number of tools, including a generator, hammer, grinder, saws, and more. (WTVG)
  5. Owens Community College will host Ohio author Saeed Jones as part of its 2021-22 Big Read selection. The event will take place April 28 both virtually and in-person and will feature Jones discussing his memoir "How We Fight for Our Lives."(BG Independent Media)
