Here are the top stories today in Toledo:
- Shawnte Hardin has been found guilty of 30 felony charges, including engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity and abuse of a corpse, by Judge Michael Goulding on Friday. Hardin was arrested in October 2021 after cremated remains were found inside a church in Akron. (WTOL)
- 22-year-old Daevon Higgs had an outstanding murder warrant when he was shot and killed by an unknown suspect around 2 AM Friday at Ravine Park Village apartments in East Toledo. Higgs was accused of shooting and killing Catherine Craig this past Sunday. (WNWO)
- The City of Toledo announced it exercised their 'incident response plan' Friday afternoon after network monitoring technology detected some anomalies. No harm was believed to have been caused. (WTVG)
- The Waterville Planning Commission is hosting a meeting August 15 to discuss the proposed amphitheater project. The meeting will be held at Waterville Primary School at 457 Sycamore Lane to address the U.S. Route 24 and State Route 64 plans. (WTOL)
- Foul play is suspected after the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office discovered a body in a ditch in the 1700 block of N. Rymers Road. The body was found a mile west of the Camp Perry property around 6 PM Thursday. (WTVG)

- 40-year-old Patience Chaney of Lorain was pronounced dead after a head-on collision at Airport Highway and Turtle Creek Circle in Swanton Township. (WTOL)
- A person was struck near the downtown Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority hub on North Huron Street Friday night, according to the Toledo Police. (WTOL)
- Wauseon man Devin Harris was charged with the murder and felonious assault of Gemma Thompson in the Fulton County Common Pleas Court on Friday for a crime that occurred August 2. (WTOL)
- Local border collies are keeping the Canadian geese at bay in the Glass City Metropark. (WTVG)
