🌱 High School Threatened + Train To Columbus + Gas Prices Update

Good day, people of Toledo! Brad King here with a fresh issue of the Toledo Daily.


First, today's weather:

Here are the top stories in Toledo today:

  1. Gas prices in Toledo are down by more than 5 cents per gallon according to the latest numbers from GasBuddy. The cheapest gas recorded in the Glass City was $2.39 and the average is $3.12. (WTOL)
  2. The Maritime Academy of Toledo was closed Monday due to a mechanical issue. Students' families were alerted to the closure through a message relayed by Superintendent Aaron Lusk. (WTOL)
  3. Perrysburg's Woodlands Park will now feature 18 pieces of art work available for the public to appreciate. Dubbed the Perrysburg Sculpture Walk, the event will run through August 2022 and features art chosen by a jury of three art experts. (Toledo City Paper)
  4. The City of Toledo is paying for a study to explore the possibility of a passenger rail service that would run from Toledo to the state capital Columbus. Toledo City Councilwoman Theresa Morris is spearheading the efforts while working with a Maryland firm that specializes in rail technology. (13abc Action News)
  5. Toledo Police are currently investigating a threatening message discovered at Start High School on Monday. Officials state the initial investigation indicates the threat is not credible and that anyone involved with the incident will be disciplined and could even face criminal charges. (13abc Action News)

  • Toledo Police Department Clerk Christine Brown is still going strong after 50 years on the job. At 81 years old, Ms. Brown has been eyeing retirement since she was eligible in 2006 but to date has dutifully kept her position, working with with the public to get access to accident and crime reports.   • One person has been shot after a suspect opened fire on a home in North Toledo in the 3000 block of Elm Street. According to a detective working the case, a woman was grazed by a bullet and suffered non-life threatening injuries. (13abc Action News)
