Here are the top stories today in Toledo:
- Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz is celebrating the end of road work season in the city, touting it as a record-breaking year. Mayor Kapszukiewicz celebrated the residents of the Glass City for passing the Toledo Roads levy. The road repair plans for next year will be announced late November/early December. (WTOL)
- An exciting fundraiser for the Lucas County Canine Care and Control department is happening this weekend. Hockey team the Warthogs is made up of public safety workers from Wood County, including dispatchers, police officers, and attorneys. Pucks and Paws is happening this Sunday at Tam-o-Shanter in Sylvania. (13abc Action News)
- Toledo families can recycle their candy wrappers and pumpkins as the Halloween season comes to an end. Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful is sending candy wrappers to TerraCycle and collection boxes will be set up at YMCA of Greater Toledo locations. The Great Pumpkin Pitch program hopes to collect 40,000 lbs. of pumpkins for composting this year after collecting 18,000 lbs. last year. (13abc Action News)
- The Lucas County Operating Vehicles Intoxicated Task Force will conduct 2 sobriety checkpoints in Springfield Township Saturday night. The checkpoints will be at 7337 W. Bancroft St. and 6355 Angola Road from 8 PM to 2 AM. (WTOL)
- The SeaGate Center is hosting Jurassic Quest through Sunday, featuring 100 realistic dinosaurs. Several varieties will be available for families to experience. (WNWO NBC 24)
