Here are the top five stories today in Toledo:
- Two people are hospitalized after a head-on collision near Toledo Airport at the Ohio Turnpike entrance. Ohio State Highway patrol say a car traveling eastbound turned left and crashed into a westbound car and will be cited for failure to yield. (WTVG)
- Two people were involved in a shooting at the South Toledo McDonald's on Broadway after an argument at the Stop & Go at the same intersection around 12:30 PM Thursday. Toledo Police state one person was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. (WTOL)
- A fire has completely destroyed a home at the intersection of Oakwood and Waite in Central Toledo. TFD reports a call about the fire came in around 3:30 AM and the house was vacant. (WTVG)
- Wednesday saw a special operation conducted by the Toledo Police Department's Investigations Bureau, Field Operations, Gang Task Force, and SWAT to apprehend nearly 100 individuals with domestic violence warrants. Named for this year's slain domestic violence victims, Operation S.W.A.N. saw 17 arrested while the remainder will be featured on the the TPD's social media pages.
- Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz announced two new large trash traps in the Ottawa River as part of the 2020 Trash-Free Waters Program by the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative. (WNWO NBC 24)
