🌱 Lucas Co. Coroner IDs Bodies Of Teens + $536M Formula Plant In BG

Hi, everybody. I'm back in your inbox this chilly morning to walk you through everything you need to know about what's happening in Toledo these days. Today's issue includes:

  • The Lucas County Coroner's Office has identified the bodies of missing teens Ke'Marion Wilder and Kyshawn Pittman.
  • Tyrone Riley, Yvonne Harper, and Larry Sykes pleaded guilty to bribery and extortion charges in the long-running federal Toledo City Council case.
  • Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced that Abbott Laboratories will build a $536 million powder formula plant in Bowling Green.

  1. The Lucas County Coroner's Office has identified the bodies of missing teens Ke'Marion Wilder and Kyshawn Pittman. Cruz Garcia was initially charged with kidnapping and has received the additional charge of murder. (WTVG)
  2. Tyrone Riley, Yvonne Harper, and Larry Sykes pleaded guilty to bribery and extortion charges in the long-running federal Toledo City Council case. A fourth former council member, Gary Johnson, is scheduled to face a federal jury at trial on January 9 according to the US Dept. of Justice. (WTVG)
  3. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced that Abbott Laboratories will build a $536 million powder formula plant in Bowling Green. On Thursday both the Bowling Green School Board and City Council voted to approve the measure which will break ground in 2023 and provide 450 permanent jobs. (WNWO)
  4. Toledo Police are investigating after 17 shots were fired into a home on Maumee Street in South Toledo around 7:30 PM Thursday. No injuries were reported even though a 42-year-old woman was inside during the shootings. (WTOL)
  5. The UToledo Rockets football team landed in West Palm Beach Florida on Friday to prepare for the Boca Raton Bowl on Tuesday. The Rockets will play Liberty after winning the Mid-American Conference championship. (WTOL)

  • Toledo Fire and Rescue are reporting six people escaped a house fire that was started by a child in the 300 block of E. Oakland around 3 AM Friday. (WTVG)
  • David White Jr., 46, and a 52-year-old Adrian woman died in a car crash in Monroe County after Michigan State Police were called to a home for a domestic violence incident involving White. (WTOL)
  • The Hetterick family has donated $4,000 worth of pajamas to the Cherry Street Mission after they were fraudulently charged for the goods in a credit card scheme. (WTVG)
