Hey, Toledo! It's Wednesday, so let's get you started with everything you need to know going on around Toledo today.


First, today's weather:

Here are the top stories today in Toledo:

  1. Lucas County Board of Elections officials are blaming ballot mix-ups on vendor issues after some Democratic voters were given Republican ballots and vice versa on Tuesday. (WTOL)
  2. Willie Knighten Jr. of Toledo was wrongfully convicted of murder in 1996. Despite being exonerated by the parole board a year ago, Mr. Knighten is hoping for a pardon from Ohio Governor Mike DeWine so he can move forward with his life. (WTVG)
  3. The Lucas County Commissioners are moving forward with plans to demolish Ned Skeldon Stadium at the Lucas County Rec Center and are looking for public input as to the best uses for the facility moving forward. (WTOL)
  4. Planned Pethood has seen an increase in the number of dogs that need homes coming from puppy mills in Ohio. Puppy mill animals often lack proper socialization and Planned Pethood rescues nearly 1,000 animals a year. (WTVG)
  5. Toledoan Michael Childress, 29, has been accused of pistol-whipping and shooting Kenneth Norris, 31, at a convenience store in Mansfield. Childress is also accused of being involved in a separate shooting earlier this week and he remains at large. (Cleveland 19 News)
