🌱 Man Dies In South Toledo Grain Silo + Defiance County Shooting

Hey, hello! It's me, Brad King, your host of the Daily. Let's get this day started off right, with a quick review of everything you need to know about what's happening in town these days. Today you'll find these stories and more:

  • The 15-year-old suspect accused of killing DeAsia Green, also 15, may be tried as an adult according to the Lucas County Juvenile Prosecutor's Office.
  • 60-year-old Cara Cordes was arrested by the Defiance County Sheriffs for shooting a 37-year-old Napoleon woman during an altercation Wednesday.
  • Toledo's Schneider Soccer Complex was awarded a $1.38 million federal budget appropriation.

  1. The 15-year-old suspect accused of killing DeAsia Green, also 15, may be tried as an adult according to the Lucas County Juvenile Prosecutor's Office. The process to be tried as an adult involves evaluations by mental health professionals before the case can be transferred. (WTOL)
  2. A Lucas County Grand Jury did not indict the suspect accused of killing Issac Carpenter on the basis of self-defense. Footage of the shooting from July 2022 was made available to the Toledo Police and the Lucas County Prosecutor and Assistant Prosecutor met with Carpenter's family to explain the case. (WTVG)
  3. 60-year-old Cara Cordes was arrested by the Defiance County Sheriffs for shooting a 37-year-old Napoleon woman during an altercation Wednesday. Cordes has been charged with felonious assault and the victim had to be life-lighted to the hospital and is in critical condition. (WTVG)
  4. Toledo's Schneider Soccer Complex was awarded a $1.38 million federal budget appropriation. Designers with The Mannik & Smith Group Inc. hope to open by fall 2023 and feature twice the number of fields along with many more amenities. (WNWO)
  5. A 61-year-old man has died after suffering a medical emergency in a grain silo at the Anderson's plant on Kuhlman Road in South Toledo Tuesday. Toledo Police, Toledo Fire & Rescue, and the Lucas County Coroner's Office all responded to the scene and the cause of death is reported to be natural. (WTOL)
