Here are the top stories today in Toledo:

- With Jeep Fest happening this weekend, the origin of the famous vehicle comes into question. The Bantam Car Company in Butler, Pennsylvania first created the iconic off-road vehicle in response to requests for aid by the U.S. government during World War II. - The Frederick Douglass Community Center in Central Toledo is in need of some repairs as it has not been upgraded since its inception in 1979. Toledo City Council has already approved $1.5 million toward the renovations, but realistically may require an additional million dollars to achieve its goals. (13abc Action News)
- The Toledo Police Department has released officer body cam footage from a shooting that occurred at Franklin Park Mall on Tuesday evening. Police arrived on scene to find one man intentionally waiting for officers after he removed the clip from his firearm. (13abc Action News)

Now, the city council has approved a plan to fix the issues at a tremendous cost to taxpayers. The city is looking into federal grants to help offset the costs. (WTOL)
