🌱 New Trail At Swan Creek Metropark + Health Dept. Booster Vaccines

Hi all. I'm back with your fresh copy of the Toledo Daily, fresh off the presses. Here's everything you need to know about what's happening in town today. Please note, I will not be publishing a newsletter from September 13-September 24.

  • Toledo Mayor Kapszukiewicz and the Toledo Roadrunner Club will attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new 1.5 mile trail at Swan Creek Preserve Metropark this Saturday.
  • Bryan Coutcher has been indicted on murder charges for the August killing of 56-year-old Betty Shiffler.
  • The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department is offering COVID booster shots beginning this week at the Downtown Location at 635 N. Erie Street.

  1. Bryan Coutcher has been indicted on murder and felonious assault charges for killing 56-year-old Betty Shiffler in August. Shiffler suffered blunt force trauma to the head and died at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. (WTOL)
  2. Swan Creek Preserve Metropark will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new 1.5 mile trail overlooking the creek and accessing a 200-acre-area previously unused. The event will be attended by Toledo Mayor Kapszukiewicz and the Toledo Roadrunner Club. (WTOL)
  3. A tandem bike was stolen from 12-year-old Caleb Hooten, who suffers from microcephaly and other health issues. The bike was a gift from his grandmother Janelle Wright, who would like to see the bike returned but is making plans to save for a new one if need be. (WTVG)
  4. The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department is offering COVID booster vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna beginning this week. The health department can be found at 635 N. Erie Street in Downtown Toledo. (WTVG)
  5. Buckeye Broadband and Lucas County Children Services (LCCS) employees volunteered Thursday for the Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity 'playhouse blitz build.' Five playhouses were constructed with themes chosen for specific families served by LCCS. (WNWO)

  • Toledo Police are investigating after a person was shot outside of the Orchard Inn Bar at W. Sylvania Avenue and Bowen Road in West Toledo around 2 a.m. Thursday morning. (WTOL)
  • Toledo Public Schools is encouraging parents to use the Edulog Parent Portal, which allows for the tracking of their student's school bus ride. (WTVG)
