Hello again, Toledo. Brad King here with your Thursday edition of the Toledo Daily, full of everything you need to know about what's going on in town. Without further ado...
First, today's weather:
Showers, heavy t-storms. High: 82 Low: 69.
Here are the top five stories today in Toledo:
- A Lucas County Grand Jury indicted Carlton Dumas, 44, on third-degree felony counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor on Wednesday. Dumas is also accused of threatening to kill the victim with a gun over several days in the 800 block of Waverly Avenue around July 17. (WTVG)
- After the Lucas County Coroner ruled 18-year-old Baili Cowell's death was caused by chronic neglect, her mother Shelli Gantka has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and failing to provide for a functionally impaired person. Baili was found at a home on Chase Street in North Toledo on April 24. (WNWO)
- Jason and Tabetha Sosnowicz were arrested for allegedly leaving a 12-year-old child tied up for hours at the Baymont Hotel in the 2400 block of Oregon Road in Northwood on July 22. The pair have been charged with felony Endangering Children - Administering Corporal Punishment and were booked in the Wood County Jail. (WTVG)
- Robert Hughes was arrested after entering Larchmont Elementary School Tuesday and threatening to shoot the voting machines. Hughes was witnessed shouting disparaging things about the Democratic Party and was charged with inducing panic and threatening violence. (WTOL)
- U.S. Marshals arrested Ronald Richardson Jr. in Findlay for the January murder of Gerald Dennis Mayes II, 27, in Springfield Township. Richardson was the final suspect to be arrested after Chicha Harris and David Evans had already been taken into custody. (WTOL)

- The 2009 murder of 91-year-old Grace Kennedy in Bryan, Ohio may finally be solved with advancing DNA technology. (WTOL)
- A male victim is hospitalized after being stabbed several times at Collingwood and Central Avenue around 2 a.m. Wednesday. The crime occurred in the parking lot of Key Bank and the suspect has not been arrested yet. (WTOL)
- Toledo Public Schools' new Toledo Pre-Medical & Health Science Academy is set to open for the 2022 academic year and offers graduates entry-level credentials for medical careers or further studies. (WNWO)
- The Downtown Toledo TARTA office is set to reopen Monday after plumbing issues forced it to close earlier this week. (WNWO)
