First, today's weather:

Pleasant with clouds and sun. High: 88 Low: 71.

Here are the top five stories in Toledo today:

  2. North Central Correctional Institution inmate Robert Flanigan has been indicted for the 2001 murder of 82-year-old Dorothy Rejiester. Flanigan has a long history of incarceration for kidnapping and a string of robberies in South Toledo. (WTOL)
  3. The Lucas County Pit Crew recently rescued Trucker, a dog covered in tar. The group is hosting an adoption event at the Woofstock Mewsic Festival this weekend at The Pinnacle in Maumee. (WTVG)
  4. The 27-year-old man accused of raping the ten-year-old Ohio girl who made national news seeking abortion care out of state has been indicted by a grand jury in Columbus. Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan had previously questioned the tragic story's authenticity. (WTVG)
  5. City of Toledo leaders celebrated the competition of the footbridge that will connect Glass City Metro Park on the East Side with International Park downtown. This development is the latest in a series of exciting plans in store for the Metropark. (WTVG)

About me: I have been a lifelong Northwest Ohio native and University of Toledo grad (Go Rockets!). I'm old enough to remember when the Mud Hens were still playing in Maumee. The Glass City has seen some amazing revitalization and I am so excited to share every update with you!
