🌱 Ohio Theatre Gets $2.5 Million Upgrade + Trinity Church Helper Dogs

- Local church hosts a helper dog program that has seen therapy dogs respond to the horrific Uvalde, Texas shooting.
- The historic Ohio Theatre was built in 1921 and will undergo external upgrades thanks to a $2.5 million grant.

Here are the top five stories in Toledo today:
- Forty-two people were arrested for domestic violence warrants by the Lucas County Sheriff's office on Wednesday. Several agencies participated in the roundup, including the U.S. Marshals, I.C.E. and nearly every local law enforcement agency. (WTVG)
- Trinity Lutheran Church and School has three helper dogs who work with children testifying during traumatic times and TFRD and the Toledo Police. Helper dog Claudia comforted survivors of the Uvalde, Texas shooting and many more have helped the Toledo area thanks to the Lutheran Church Charities K-9 Ministries. (WTOL)
- Some absentee ballots may still be in the mail, as they could not be released in Ohio until early voting began October 12. The board of elections report ballots may still be awaiting delivery for the elections on November 8, 2022. (WTOL)
- Susie's Coats for Kids, along with several other non-profit agencies like Hannah's Socks, Bags of Love and Buff City Soap, will participate in the 16th annual coat distribution on November 5 at Jones Leadership Academy on 430 Nebraska Avenue. (WTVG)
- The historic Ohio Theatre has received a $2.5 million grant to be used for several important renovations. The structure was built in 1921 and was purchased by the Children's Theatre Workshop in 2020. (WTVG)
