Here are the top stories in Toledo today:
- Toledo-based excavation contractor Grounds One is seeking a "scrap and salvage designation" and is already co-sponsored by the Toledo Plan Commission. Residents and businesses of Lewis Avenue, near the proposed scrap yard, are voicing their concerns for possible cancer-causing toxins as a result. (WTOL)
- Toledo Police are investigating after a 10-year-old allegedly threatened to "shoot up" Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School with an AK-47. TPD received permission from the student's parents to search the home and found no weapons. (WTOL)
- A double homicide suspect was killed by Toledo Police early Friday morning at the Weiler Homes after deescalation efforts failed. A call to TPD was made at 11:18 PM Thursday regarding two people shot to death in a home in the 2700 block of Albion Street in Central Toledo. (WNWO)
- St. John's Jesuit High School is focusing on student entrepreneurs through its Titan Café and plans to open a "state-of-the-art facility that will feature flexible classrooms and lab space." The expansion will cost $15.8 million and over $12 million has been raised already. (WTVG)
- USA Today has nominated the Wildwood Manor House and the Toledo Zoo's Lights Before Christmas in their holiday "10 Best" series and voting is open through December 5. (WTVG)
