  • The Toledo Zoo has welcomed polar bear cubs for the first time since 2012.

Here are the top five stories today in Toledo:

  1. The Toledo Zoo has welcomed polar bear cubs for the first time since 2012. Parents Crystal, 24, and Nuka, 18, have also provided cubs for the Columbus Zoo. The new cubs will debut in spring 2023. (ABC6OnYourSide.com)
  2. After the water main break in North Toledo that flooded Galena and Chase streets, the cost for repairs will not fall to the City of Toledo. Per the Ohio Revised Code, the city is not responsible and residents are encouraged to contact their insurance providers. (WTOL)
  3. A car crashed into the T-Mobile store in the 3000 block of Glendale Avenue in South Toledo Thursday afternoon around 4:30 PM. The store is expected to be closed for a month and no cause of the crash has been released. (WTOL)
  4. Toledoans will have the chance to weigh in on the hiring process for the next TPD Chief of Police. The survey opened Thursday and runs through December 19. (WTVG)
  5. TPD is searching for suspects in a fatal hit and run car accident that resulted in the death of 29-year-old Khalid Denton and 30-year-old Lakwanda Brown. The crash occurred at westbound Islington toward Collingwood on Monday. (WTVG)
