Happy Friday, people of Toledo! Here's everything happening today in town.


First, today's weather:

Here are the top stories in Toledo today:

  1. A 35-year-old Toledo man was arrested in Monroe, MI for reportedly shooting at another person during a road rage incident. The shooting took place on U.S. 23 on Thursday morning and a Monroe County sheriff's deputy observed part of the altercation. (FOX 2 Detroit)
  2. WTOL 11 will host a live debate between incumbent Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz and former Toledo Mayor and challenger Carty Finkbeiner on October 26. Both candidates will answer questions from a panel of WTOL news anchors and from voter-submitted questions.(WTOL)
  3. The African American Police League (AAPL) has accused Toledo Police of a lack of diversity when considering officer promotions. Toledo Police Chief George Kral stated the police force is committed to diversity and will continue working with the AAPL. (13abc Action News)
  4. A Toledo driver is facing OVI (operating vehicle while intoxicated) charges after causing a two-car crash on the Anthony Wayne trail on Wednesday night. The crash occurred near the intersection of White Street and the trail. Both drivers suffered minor injuries. (13abc Action News)
  5. Ohio First Lady Fran DeWine visited the Toledo Lucas County Library to promote Ohio's partnership with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. The program aims to to send books to families across the country for free and is also supported by Mercy Health. (WTOL)

  • A Toledo driver is unhurt after a crash that occurred in the 4200 block of Monroe Street near Woodmont. The single-car crash saw the vehicle drive off the street and over a curb before hitting a pole and flipping over. (WTOL)
  • The General Motors Toledo Transmission plant is facing layoffs due to supply chain issues affecting the auto industry. Multiple shifts will be suspended for more than a week beginning in late October and early November. (WTOL)
