🌱 Teen Charged In Lagrange St. Shooting + Hilton Hotels Open Downtown

Here are the top five stories in Toledo today:
- Amir Hashim, 19, has been charged with felonious assault and criminal trespassing for a shooting that occurred at a home in the 2200 block of Lagrange Street on May 5. The victim, 57-year-old Ernest Artis, suffered "major trauma" according to Toledo Fire & Rescue. (WTVG)
- Linda Bell, 78, is in critical condition after she was struck by a vehicle driven by Hersa Poplin, 50, on Secor Road near the Westgate Village Shopping Center. Bell was reportedly walking outside of a crosswalk in an area with no traffic signals around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. (WTOL)
- Maumee Schools' dress code policy has come under fire after 7th grader Logan Gray was kicked out of class for a dress her mother described as something one might wear to church. (WTVG)
- The Hilton Garden Inn and the Homewood Suites by Hilton are now open in Downtown Toledo. The Lucas County Commissioners celebrated the grand opening on Wednesday afternoon next to the Glass City Center. (WNWO NBC 24)
- The Toledo Zoo is hosting Funday Sunday, a staple of the University of Findlay's Mazza Museum, that features hands-on activities focused on education and children's literature. The event will be held from 1-4 p.m. at the ProMedica Natural History Museum. (WTOL)
