🌱Teens Throw Man Into Maumee River + Deputy Sheriff Chase On Dorr St.

A t-storm around in the p.m.. High: 79 Low: 67.


Here are the top five stories in Toledo today:

  1. A woman reported seeing three teens jump 51-year-old Kelley Turner and throw him into the Maumee River behind Imagine Station. Turner clung to the docks and was rescued by passengers on a nearby pontoon boat. (WTOL)
  2. Film making in Toledo is on the rise thanks to Ohio's 2009 motion picture tax credit. Executive Director of FilmToledo Michael DeSanto has already been involved with a Tom Hanks picture that shot a day in Toledo this year. (WTOL)
  3. A shooting at the Kobe Bay restaurant at The Docks in East Toledo caused hundreds of people to scatter Monday around 2:30 a.m. Toledo Police found bullet holes inside the restaurant but no arrests have been made. (WTVG)
  4. Paul Anthony Escobar, 31, led a deputy sheriff on a car chase Monday near Dorr and Reynolds. Escobar had several felony drug and weapon warrants at the time of his arrest. (WTVG)
  5. Scott Gallagher, 59, was found shot near City Park and Green Street and was pronounced dead at St. Vincent's Hospital at 8:34 p.m. A 29-year-old was reportedly taken to the Safety Building downtown for questioning. (WNWO NBC 24)

  • Jason Black has been sentenced to four years in prison in the Lucas County Court for shooting his girlfriend in April. (WTVG)
  • Gas in Toledo has fallen 11.8 cents since last week and is now averaging $4.79 a gallon, a three-week trend downward. (WTOL)
  • Shots were still being fired as the Toledo Police reported to a shooting on West Delaware Avenue in Central Toledo Tuesday, though no arrests have been made. (WTOL)
