First, today's weather:
Rain and snow showers. High: 42 Low: 22.
Here are the top five stories in Toledo today:
- Bowsher High School went on lock down for the third day in a row due to threats received against the school. A Toledo Public Schools spokesperson confirmed the school went on brief lockdowns but that the threats received were not credible. (WTVG)
- Toledo Police responded to a call for shots fired in the 900 block of Rogers Street just after 1 AM Friday morning in East Toledo. At least three vehicles and three houses had been struck by gunfire, and reports for more shootings also came in for Fasset Street, Greenwood Avenue, Nevada Street, and Raymer Boulevard. (WTOL)
- Investigators with the Toledo Police have released surveillance footage related to the 2018 murder of 64-year-old Charles Powell, Sr. who is believed to have been robbed by a person he knew. He was found dead in his home on Vinton Street in South Toledo with no signs of a break-in. (WTVG)
- Toledo Fire & Rescue responded to a house fire in the 900 block of Gordon Street on Thursday afternoon and were able to rescue a dog, a cat, and five people. The pets were taken to a vet, and two adults and three children managed to climb onto the roof where they were rescued. (WTOL)
- A new human trafficking prevention initiative has been formed by the Mercy Health - Toledo Trauma Recovery Center and the Lucas County Prosecutor's Office with a donation from the Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force, the Ohio Children's Trust Fund, and the Ohio Dept. of Job and Family Services. At-risk minorities in the 11-17 age range will be counseled on trafficking prevention and services to keep them engaged healthily with the community. (WNWO NBC 24)

- Cathy and Mark DeMichiei, originally from Napoleon, Ohio, have opened their home in Germany to a family fleeing the war in Ukraine. The couple posted their availability on the Ukraine Take Shelter website and are hosting three mothers and their children. (WNWO NBC 24)
- TARTA will resume public transportation service on Sundays and holidays beginning March 27. These services had been cut in 2019 but new funding and support of the community have brought them back. (WTVG)

- For anyone in Toledo struggling to provide food since the rise in inflation, two local groups are offering assistance. Mobile Meals and the Toledo Northwester Ohio Food Bank are both available and are also in need of volunteers. (WTVG)
- Several local women were honored at this year's Milestones: A Tribute to Women event hosted by the YWCA of Northwest Ohio. The virtual celebration was the 27th time such community members were honored by the organization. (WTVG)
