Here are the top five stories in Toledo today:
- Donte Gilmer, 37, will have a second trial for the November 2021 murders of Natasha Carlisle and Laura Luckey after the last ended with a hung jury. Gilmer's trial is scheduled for November 8 and Carlisle's mother hopes to see justice done. (WTVG)
- Dominick Barnett, 29, Toledo father and musician, has died after being shot in South Toledo near Byrne Road and Gibralter Heights Drive Friday night around 10 p.m. Barnett was transported to UTMC by Toledo Police but succumbed to his injuries. Barnett was a 2011 graduate of the Toledo School for the Arts, attended Capital University in Columbus and served in the Navy. (WTOL)
- Catherine Craig, 28, has died after being shot while driving on N. Detroit Avenue near Council Street around 1:45 a.m. Sunday. Passenger Dyamond Brown, 21, suffered gunshot wounds but was treated at a nearby hospital. (WTOL)
- One man has been arrested after leading the Ohio State Highway Patrol on a chase before crashing into the First Alliance Church at the corner of Monroe Street and Collingwood Blvd. early Sunday morning. The car was discovered to be stolen and the suspect was transporting drugs and guns. (WTVG)
- The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating after 32-year-old Bryona Blacksten was struck and killed by a vehicle on I-475 near Corey Road. Blacksten was reportedly standing outside of a Jeep Compass when she was hit by a Kenworth T800 semi truck. (WNWO)

- A Toledo Firefighter was injured responding to a house fire in the 1700 block of Macomber at Isherwood around 2 a.m. Monday. Officials have deemed the cause of the fire at the vacant home to be "suspicious." (WTOL)
- U.S. Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm and UToledo Presdent Greg Postel announced a $20 million investment for the University of Toledo to lead research into Cadmium Telluride solar power technology. (WNWO)
