🌱 Toledo Man Drowns In Milan Beach + 5 New City Officials Announced

A stray morning t-storm. High: 79 Low: 58.
Here are the top five stories today in Toledo:
- A 45-year-old Toledo man drowned at Milan Beach Monday evening according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Department. The victim's family reported the man had been in the water and missing for two hours. Rescue attempts were facilitated by several local emergency services. (WTOL)
- Ohio's new "Constitutional Carry" law will take effect June 12, allowing anyone legally able to own a firearm to conceal carry without any training or a license. The new law also eliminates the requirement to immediately disclose the presence of a firearm to police. (WTOL)
- Donations are needed for the 6th Annual Cherry Fest Run, hosted by Julie's Fitness Studio to benefit Nature's Nursery. The event is set for June 10 and suggested donations include paper towels, canned cat food, baby food, unsalted shelled pecans or almonds and dry cat food. (WTVG)
- On Friday, Toledo Mayor Kapszukiewicz announced five new city positions aimed at improving conditions in the Glass City. The newly-filled positions include Commissioner of Save Our Community, Commissioner of Youth Services, Commissioner of Code Compliance, a Disability Manager, and Director of Building and Code Compliance. - Toledo Mayor Kapszukiewicz has announced the first deadline for rental properties to receive a Lead-Safe Certification from the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department. Phase 1 of the project has a deadline of June 30 and homes must meet standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency. (WTVG)

- Officials at the U.S. Coast Guard Toledo Station have several tips for boating season, such as making sure life jackets are on board and driving carefully to avoid accidents. (WTOL)
- The Toledo Rep is putting on 'In the Heights' June 3-19. The show features music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes. (BG Independent News)
- The Hollywood Casino Toledo celebrates its 1oth anniversary this year and features a brand new Poker Room with 12 tables and four huge TVs. (Toledo City Paper)
