🌱 Toledo Man Jailed For Injuring Infant + Perrysburg Teens Plea Deal

First, today's weather:

Humid; a strong p.m. t-storm. High: 93 Low: 73.


Here are the top stories today in Toledo:

  1. Ahmad Williams,22, was arrested after he admitted to causing a skull fracture in his infant child. Williams was booked in the Lucas County Jail on charges of felonious assault and child endangering. (WTOL)
  2. Two Perrysburg teens have pleaded guilty to lesser charges after being arrested for sexually assaulting two victims. The crime occurred at a home in Perrysburg in November 2021. (WTOL)
  3. A Shot Spotter call on Idaho Street at Valleywood Drive alerted Toledo Police around 9:20 p.m. Monday. TPD and Toledo Fire & Rescue treated a man suffering a gunshot wound at the scene. No suspects have been arrested. (WTVG)
  4. Toledo Pastor Andre Cranford and his wife Stacye run the Back2Life Deliverance Center free thrift store at the corner of Indiana and Detroit. The store is open noon to 6 p.m. every day with a church service at 6:30 p.m. (WTVG)
  5. A portion of Alexis Road State Route 184 has been renamed "Officer Anthony Dia Memorial Highway" near the spot where Officer Dia was killed in the line of duty. The dedication was attended by Ohio Reps. Lisa Sobecki and Michael Sheehy, as well as Mayor Kapszukiewicz, TPD Chief George Kral and the Dia family. (WNWO)

  • The Ohio Dept. of Health is sending $6.89 million to 26 organizations aimed at improving neighborhoods facing socioeconomic challenges. (WTVG)
  • Owens Community College is hosting an online adjunct faculty recruiting event Thursday from 5-6 p.m. (The Courier)
  • Helping Hands of St. Louis is hosting its 9th Annual Shoe Fest Saturday, August 6 and fitting children with new shoes for the school year along with a Sidewalk Clothing Give-Away. (WNWO NBC 24)
  • The family of Cethus Jay Manning are still searching for answers after he was seemingly shot to death at random while sitting in a parked car on Everett Street near Lagrange on February 20, 2017. (WTVG)
