🌱 Toledo Olympian's Trial Continued + Ohio AG Threatens ProMedica

  • The trial for Toledo Olympic Medalist Oshae Jones has been continued until November, while the Toledo Police continue to investigate body cam footage showing a TPD Officer punch her in the head during her arrest.
  • Local food truck and runner-up on the Food Network's Great Food Truck Race "Maybe Cheese Born With It" was honored by the City of Toledo Tuesday.
  • ProMedica has agreed to honor its late $7.6 million payment to the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences after being threatened with a lawsuit by the Ohio Attorney General's office.

  1. The trial date for Toledo native and Olympic medalist Oshae Jones has been continued until November. Jones was arrested July 31 but body cam footage shows a Toledo Police Officer punch her in the head and remains under internal investigation. (WTOL)
  2. The City of Toledo honored local food truck "Maybe Cheese Born With It" on Tuesday at the One Government Center in Downtown Toledo. The food truck received second place on the Food Network's the "Great Food Truck Race." (WNWO NBC 24)
  3. ProMedica has agreed to make a $7.6 million payment to the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences after the Ohio Attorney General's office threatened to take action over the late payments. The fees in question stem from a 2015 agreement between the school and ProMedica and make up 44% of the school's annual budget. (WTVG)
  4. The Toledo Lucas County Public Library will offer a variety of free year-round programs at several of its branches. In addition to services like tutoring, the branches also offer studio lab technology for kids and teens to make recordings, films, and more. (WTVG)
  5. Toledo Police have issued an arrest warrant for 22-year-old Kielyn Burwell, who is accused of shooting at a 17-year-old. Burwell has been charged with felonious assault for the incident that occurred September 19. (WTOL)

  • Toledo's local chapter of the American Red Cross and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Toledo are sending relief efforts to Florida in response to Hurricane Fiona. (WTOL)
  • On Saturday, Hensville Park in Downtown Toledo was renamed "Survivors Park" to host the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in honor of breast cancer awareness. (WTOL)
  • Toledo locals are advised to watch out for "check washing" after local woman Flora Patten was scammed out of $6800. (WTVG)
  • The Toledo Fire & Rescue Department held a promotional ceremony on Monday at the City Council Chambers. (WTVG)
