Here are the top five stories today in Toledo:
- 13-year-old Sakoya Sykes went missing on Monday after walking out of Chase STEMM Academy around 11:20 AM. Toledo Police are conducting a search for the youth and encourage anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers. (WTOL)
- A Toledo man who had been working in Ukraine for eight months has returned home after evacuating the city of Kyiv. Known only as 'Josh' for safety reasons, the individual was able to leave the country in mid-February after warnings issued by the Biden administration. (WTOL)
- Toledo Municipal Court Judge Michelle Wagner addressed law students at Ohio Northern University on Tuesday with a speech titled "A View from the Bench." Judge Wagner has been instrumental in developing the court's approach to domestic violence cases, including shielding victims from their abusers and assigning special prosecutors. (WKTN Radio)
- Yana Khabina, a UToledo alum and track and field athlete, grew up in Ukraine and continues to live in the Glass City. Khabina's family still resides in Ukraine and COVID complications are preventing her grandparents from evacuating to a bomb shelter. (13abc Action News)
- Airport Highway was closed between Barclay and Elmdale after Toledo Police pursued a car reported to be stolen. A driver uninvolved with the chase was struck and had to be hospitalized and the suspect was taken into custody. (13abc Action News)
