🌱 Toledo Worker Rescues Family From Flood + Fatal Waterville Crash

  • The Toledo City Council voted 7-4 in Tuesday to fire suspended City Auditor Jake Jaksetic.
  • Bryan Barker, 54, has died following a crash with a semi truck on US 24 near Route 64 in Waterville Township on Tuesday.
  • Megan Terry, 29, and her children, 7 and 5, were rescued by City of Toledo worker Duane Ashley after their car was submerged as a result of Monday's water main break.

  1. The Toledo City Council voted 7-4 on Tuesday to fire suspended City Auditor Jake Jaksetic. Council member Katie Moline voted no after previously moving to conduct an independent investigation without success. (WTOL)
  2. Bryan Barker, 54, died following a crash with a semi truck on US 24 near Route 64 in Waterville Township on Tuesday. Ohio State Highway Patrol reported Barker "failed to maintain an assured clear distance" before striking the semi. (WTOL)
  3. Megan Terry, 29, and her children, 7 and 5, were rescued by City of Toledo worker Duane Ashley after their car was submerged as a result of Monday's water main break. A GoFundMe has been set up for the family after their car was totaled. (WTVG)
  4. Sheetz, the "Mid-Atlantic restaurant and convenience store chain," is reportedly coming to both Toledo and Detroit in 2025. Sheetz offers an "award-winning made-to-order menu" and is open 24/7/365. (WTVG)
  5. Though the Waterville Amphitheater has now been approved by the city council, the project remains controversial. Some residents have expressed support for the undertaking while others have been vocal with their opposition. (WNWO)
