🌱 TPD-Involved Crash On Collingwood + Injury In Bronson Ave Fire

Up and at 'em, Toledo! Let's get this Friday started. Here's everything worth knowing in town today.


First, today's weather:

Snow possible in the morning. High: 41 Low: 24.


Here are the top five stories in Toledo today:

  1. 31-year-old Deshawn Larde has been arrested on a homicide charge for the November 21, 2021 death of 22-year-old Miles Crawford. Toledo Police made the arrest and Larde was due in the Lucas County Court Friday morning. (13abc Action News)
  2. Four months ago, Lucas County's 21 municipalities consolidated their 911 emergency services into a central hub called the 911 Regional Council of Governments. Since then, there have been concerns for delayed response times and communication issues, especially during large events, but county officials are working to improve the process. (WTOL)
  3. 32-year-old stroke survivor Traci Ponder of Toledo is spreading a message of awareness that anyone can suffer from the condition. Health officials with ProMedica warn that risk factors such as lifestyle, diet, lack of exercise, and unequal access to health care can raise the possibility of stroke. (13abc Action News)
  4. A woman driving a mini-van crashed into a parked Toledo Police car that had its lights flashing and had pulled another vehicle over on Collingwood Boulevard at 1-75 around 1:30 AM Thursday. Luckily no injuries were reported and the cause of the crash is under investigation. (WTOL)
  5. A woman was injured after a fire broke out Tuesday evening in a North Toledo apartment complex on the 200 block of Bronson Avenue. Toledo Fire & Rescue responded to the scene and investigators determined the cause was a disposed cigarette. (WNWO NBC 24)

  • The University of Toledo Board of Trustees has approved new investments to help expand student enrollment outside the state of Ohio. The new proposal would eliminate much of the out-of-state additional cost for maintenance of a specific grade point average. (Press Release Desk)
