🌱TPS Hosts Career Expo At Glass City Center + Hotel Fire After Flood

  1. Toledo Public Schools hosted its day-long Career Connect at the Glass City Center. Representatives from 100 employers, colleges, universities, the military and "TPS career technology programs and magnet academies" attended the event. (WTOL)
  2. The Ortiz family of Toledo has now been displaced twice — during the water main break and flooding in North Toledo Monday and after a fire at the Fairfield Inn & Suites on Wednesday. (WTOL)
  3. The 13abc I-Team is investigating whether the City of Toledo is using funds meant for road repairs on office space for city engineers. The 4% income tax increase was passed by voters in 2020 but Councilwoman Katie Moline has stated such a use is misleading to the taxpayers. (WTVG)
  4. Monroe Public Schools closed the middle school Thursday after a bomb threat was made Wednesday. The school was searched with no results but the closure will allow "MMS staff to meet together, debrief and prepare to support students when they return on Friday." (WTVG)
  5. Several schools in Northwest Ohio, including Maumee and Anthony Wayne, have received a grant for improving school security. The funds will allow for building upgrades, security cameras and new doors. (WNWO)
