🌱 Tragic Infant Death In Jackman Road Shooting + Postal Worker Robbed

Happy Friday, people of Toledo! Let's get you all caught up on what's happening locally to start today off on an informed note.


First, today's weather:

Sunshine and remaining cool. High: 57 Low: 40.


Here are the top five stories in Toledo today:

  1. Desire Hughes, 7-months-old, was killed after the car she was traveling in driven by her father Jeremiah Hughes, 20, was shot at near Jackman Road and Hillcrest Avenue. The shooting occurred Wednesday around 8:04 PM. Anyone with knowledge is encouraged to call Crimestoppers. (WJW FOX 8 News Cleveland)
  2. Toledo Police are investigating after a US Postal Service worker was robbed at gunpoint on Wrenwood Road in West Toledo. A 17-year-old boy allegedly approached the worker before demanding a mailbox key and fleeing on foot. (WTOL)
  3. Toledo Police are once again searching for Samaria Knighten, 7, and Ceszera Reyes, 13, after the two had previously been missing from Friday through Wednesday. The children's guardian has reported that their mother, Latoya Overton, is encouraging the children to run. (WTVG)
  4. Toledo Police report Daryana Watkins was shot in the leg at the Larchmont Estates on Cribb Street in West Toledo around 1:15 AM Thursday. No arrests were made after the assailants shot into the apartment from outside. (WTOL)
  5. Canyon Caldwell, 22, of Dublin, Ohio is the fifth person to plead guilty in the hazing death of Bowling Green State University student Stone Foltz. Caldwell was convicted of one count of obstructing official business and eight counts of hazing. (WNWO NBC 24)
