Here are the top stories today in Toledo:
- Toledo Police are looking for Dajuan Smith, who is accused of shooting 31-year-old Shalena Martinez-Featurs at the Quality Inn on Alexis Road. Smith is facing felonious assault charges and Ms. Martinez-Featurs was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. (WTVG)
- 21-year-old Antonio Scott, Jr. has been arrested for the 2017 murder of 23-year-old transgender woman JoJo Striker. Scott was arrested by U.S. Marshals and booked in the Lucas County Jail after being identified through DNA evidence. (WTOL)
- A first grader at Discovery Academy in Toledo allegedly brought a knife onto a school bus and threatened other students. There are reports the school only notified parents of children directly involved and not all parents of students at the school. (WTVG)
- Bowling Green State University has expelled sorority Sigma Gamma Rho permanently from campus after conducting an investigation into hazing. The sorority reportedly practiced dangerous behavior such as excessive alcohol consumption, physical assaults, and encouraging theft. (WTOL)
- Bluffton Police Officer Dominic Francis has died following a car chase that started on State Route 15 before moving to Interstate 75. Officer Francis was struck by the fleeing vehicle as he attempted to deploy stop sticks near Exit 142. (WNWO NBC 24)
