Here are the top stories today in Toledo:
- Sylvania Township Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide after Annemarie and Robert Marksbury were found dead Monday morning. The Lucas County Coroner's Office performed an autopsy and determined Annemarie died by homicide and Robert by suicide. Police had initially responded to the home for a well-check after Annemarie's co-workers were worried she had not shown up for work. (13abc Action News)
- The Kickstarter goal of $50,000 to complete the Glass City River Wall was reached as of Tuesday. The project sits east of I-75 along the Maumee River but was delayed this year due to supply chain issues and weather conditions. (WTOL)
- Perrysburg's DORA (Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area) perimeter may be expanded, drawing mixed reactions from local businesses. Proponents of the expansion cite an increase in business and more clearly defined boarders for easier enforcement. However, some people have worried the boundaries will infringe on nearby neighborhoods. (WTOL)
- Toledoan Brad McClure is asking for help from the community to fulfill his promise of plowing snow for retired and disabled veterans, police, and first responders. McClure has been plowing Toledo streets for 30 years but recently faced a setback as his truck broke down. A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist his operation. (WNWO NBC 24)
- AVI Foodsystems, which is responsible for all food vending and service for the Huntington Center, Fifth Third Field, and the SeaGate Center, is hosting a hiring event January 3 & 4 from 3-6 PM. Positions available include warehouse workers, suite attendants, bartenders, banquet servers, culinary staff, and more. (13abc Action News)

- Amare Lockett, who tragically perished in a house fire on Christmas Eve on Fernwood Avenue, was a student at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish in Toledo. Now, the school has put together a collection to help support the family and Amare's injured siblings. Donations can be made at the school's main office off Bellevue Road. (13abc Action News)
- The Sunrise Windows & Doors company is set to expand its facilities in Temperance, MI that is expected to create about 100 new jobs. Operating for the last 25 years, the company provides custom vinyl windows for homeowners nationwide. (Monroe Evening News)
- Northbound I-75 near the DiSalle Bridge was temporarily down to one lane after an accident occurred Wednesday morning, according to the Lucas County Sheriff Dispatch. Injuries were reported, though the number of people involved or the severity is unknown. (WTOL)
- Residents of the South Toledo neighborhood affected by a house explosion on December 27 on Western Avenue are literally picking up the pieces and moving forward. Toledoan Linda Carter had been in her home for 22 years before the explosion rendered it unlivable. Nevertheless, Ms. Carter has expressed gratitude that she and her three boys were not harmed in the incident. (WTOL)
