Happy Friday, Toledo! Let's start today off on an informed note, shall we? Here's everything you need to know about what's happening today in Toledo.

Here are the top stories in Toledo today:

  1. 36-year-old Juan Garibaldo was arrested for the murder of 39-year-old Sarah Schulte on Wednesday and is on a $1 million bond. Ms. Schulte is the second victim of such a crime since 33-year-old Whitney Wade was killed by 22-year-old Ofari Smith, who is wanted by the Toledo Police. (WTOL)
  2. A dead body was discovered in a garage by the resident of a home in the 700 block of Wright Avenue in South Toledo on Wednesday. Toledo Police are investigating the matter and the identity of the deceased is unknown. (WTOL)
  3. Tiffany Warman of Toledo was sentenced for the overdose death of 23-year-0ld Toledoan Ashley Kutzly on January 24, 2021 at a home in Napoleon. Warman was convicted of involuntary manslaughter, a third degree felony, in the Henry County Court of Common Pleas. (Defiance Crescent News)
  4. Toledo rapper Jovon 'De De' Porter was shot and killed a year ago on West Central Avenue near ProMedica. Mr. Porter's mother stays in contact with investigators and is starting a non-profit in her son's honor called Uniquely Saving Our Sons. (WTVG)
  5. Amazon has selected the University of Toledo as a partner for its Career Choice program, which will cover the cost of Amazon employees' education including tuition, books, and fees.
