🌱 West Toledo Dollar General Robbed + Toledo City Water Boil Advisory

Hello all. It's me, Brad King, your host of the Daily. Here are all the things you need to know about what's happening locally, including:

  • A Water Boil Advisory is in effect for several Toledo neighborhoods and is set to expire January 1 at 5 PM.
  • Toledo Police are investigating the shooting death of a man around 12:19 AM Friday near Berdan and Watson avenues.
  • The Dollar General in West Toledo was robbed Thursday evening by a suspect who fled on foot after taking money from the register.

Here are the top five stories today in Toledo:

  1. Toledo Police are investigating the shooting death of a man around 12:19 AM Friday near Berdan and Watson avenues. The victim was first transported to St. Vincent Medical Center by emergency crews but succumbed to his injuries. (WNWO)
  2. The Dollar General in West Toledo was robbed Thursday evening by a suspect who fled on foot after taking money from the register. Toledo Police were called to the scene at Jackman Road and W. Sylvania Avenue around 5:16 PM. (WTOL)
  3. Three people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after a crash at Reynolds and Angola involving a trash truck Friday afternoon. Toledo Police are investigating and the trash truck involved is not owned by the city. (WTVG)
  4. A Water Boil Advisory is in effect for several Toledo neighborhoods and is set to expire January 1 at 5 PM. The advisory was announced by the City of Toledo Department of Public Utilities on Friday warning of possible contamination. (WTVG)
  5. There are several Christmas tree recycle drop-off locations around Toledo that will run through January 31. Another option is the African Safari Wildlife Park in Port Clinton, where the trees provide "for tasty snacks and happy animals" according to Director Kelsey Keller. (WTOL)

  • Waterville resident Todd Kerschner continues the Christmas tradition of honoring his father, Delbert, by adorning his home in tens of thousands of lights. (WTOL)
  • A portion of Secor Road will be closed in January during construction on the existing bridge over the Ottawa River. The closure will run from Valleston Parkway to Towerview Boulevard beginning January 3 and lasting seven months. (WTVG)
