🌱 Woman Assaults Grandma On W. Alexis + All City Lights Replaced

Welcome back, Toledo! Let's get you all caught up to start this Tuesday, December 28 off on an informed note. Here's everything going on today in town.
First, today's weather:

Here are the top five stories today in Toledo:
- Toledo Police are currently searching for 26-year-old Serenity Schwimmer, who is accused of assaulting her grandmother on Sunday night in the 3400 block of W. Alexis. The victim, 81-year-old Elizabeth Schwimmer, was allegedly bound by her granddaughter who then stole a television and vehicle from the home. (13abc Action News)
- Toledo SWAT responded to a situation on Howland Avenue near Starr Avenue after reports that an armed man was making threats toward a woman. The woman was able to escape, and after several hours the standoff ended peacefully with no arrests made. (WTOL)
- Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz has kept his promise made in January 2020 to replace all the city lights with LEDs by the end of 2021. Collaborating with Toledo Edison, the last replacement was made this week on Woodhurst Avenue. The new lights use less maintenance and energy and should last around 15-17 years. In the South End neighborhood where the project was initiated, violent crime has been reduced by 30%. (WNWO NBC 24)
- A home on Prescott Street has been declared a total loss after a fire on Monday morning. Toledo Fire & Rescue responded on scene to find the home engulfed in flames and crews remained to tear down the wreckage. The resident was not home at the time. (WTOL)
- Several first responders are on scene for a reported house explosion in South Toledo near Western and Eldred Monday night. The roads have been closed as debris is scattered throughout the neighborhood. (13abc Action News)

- The Toledo Museum of Art is hosting its annual The Great Art Escape from December 29 through January 2. Admission is free, though fees apply for special exhibitions, programs, and parking. (13abc Action News)
- Toledo has begun its Christmas Tree recycling process running now through January 28 at five different locations. The city is even offering reasonable assistance to those who need it. Click the link to see the recycling area nearest you! (13abc Action News)
- Sunday night saw a huge record-breaking crowd as 11,231 fans watched the Toledo Walleye host the Kalamazoo K-Wings at Fifth Third Field. The baseball field was converted for Winterfest and Sunday was the largest crowd ever for a Toledo hockey game. (13abc Action News)
