Here are the top five stories today in Toledo:
- 35-year-old Christopher Eldredge, who escaped from the Wood County Jail April 9, has been apprehended in Monroe County. A Monroe County Sheriff's Deputy pulled over a U-Haul truck on North Dixie Hwy near I-75 and found Eldredge inside. (WNWO NBC 24)
- 29-year-old Jovantai Highsmith was shot multiple times by an unknown assailant Friday morning in the 4200 block of Airport Highway. Toledo Police are investigating the crime, which occurred in the parking lot of a strip mall. (WTOL)
- Toledo Police are searching for a suspect after the Stop & Go in the 1900 block of Broadway was robbed at gunpoint. The suspect stole several items and was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and purple basketball shorts over the pants. (WTVG)
- The Toledo Area Sanitary District has been prepping for mosquito season by pre-treating and performing larval surveillance. Residents can help prevent the spread of disease by getting rid of standing water on their property. (WTVG)
- The City of Rossford is running out of land as development continues, so it is considering using property at the old Indian Hills Elementary School. A team of archaeologists and environmental consultants are being brought in to determine whether artifacts remain on a specific 13-acre section. (WTOL)

- 2 DUI checkpoints are scheduled for Saturday night, both in Washington Township. The stops will be at 6010 Summit Street and 5033 Suder Avenue and are operated by the Lucas County Operating vehicles Intoxicated Task Force. (WTVG)
- Many Toledoans reported seeing lights in the sky Thursday night that were attributed to a Starlink satellite moving through its orbit. The Elon Musk-led company operates more than 2,000 low-orbit satellites in an attempt to provide high-speed internet around the world. (WTOL)
- The Toledo Charter Revision Committee is considering a ballot measure that would let voters get rid of term limits for the city's mayor and city council positions. Other Ohio cities such as Cleveland, Columbus, and Dayton do not have term limits for these positions. (WTVG)
