2. HAZMAT crews responded to Matzinger Road Friday morning after 500 gallons of sulfuric acid spilled at Perstorp Polyols Inc. during a transfer of the chemical into a leaky tank. Toledo Fire and Rescue reports no injuries after containing the substance before it could flow into the Ottawa River. (WTVG)
3. The Wood County District Public Library's "Paws for Reading Program" features Benny the therapy dog as an audience for children learning to read. Appointments can be made online to help develop reading, speaking, and interaction with therapy animals. (WNWO)

5. UPDATE: Spencerville Mayor Phil Briggs resigned Thursday after a request from the Spencerville Village Council. Briggs is accused of taping underage girls undressing and has been charged with pandering obscenity involving a minor. (WTOL)
