Here are the top five stories today in Toledo:

  1. Toledo's Charter Review Committee has recommended expanding the city charter to allow for an additional mayoral term, upping the total consecutive terms to 3. Toledo City Council member Katie Moline has expressed her reservations about the proposed change, which must receive a two-thirds vote by the council. (WTOL)
  2. Southbound I-75 was closed after a three-vehicle collision occurred Friday around 3 a.m. near State Route 105 and East Poe Road in Bowling Green. A semi-truck traveling the wrong way struck a pickup truck and another semi. One of the semis turned over in the median, spilling diesel fuel on I-75. (WTVG)
  3. An unnamed motorcyclist has died after striking a vehicle at the intersection of W. Sylvania Avenue and Corey Road Thursday around 5 p.m.. The 21-year-old driver of the vehicle that was struck was not injured and the crash remains under investigation. (WTOL)
  4. Residents can receive quality healthcare at no cost thanks to That Neighborhood Free Health Clinic in North Toledo located at 306 Bush Street. Operating since 2014, the clinic provides acute illness treatments, physical exams, STD testing, women's health services and more. (Toledo City Paper)
  5. Ottawa Park is hosting the Annual Social Butterfly Day for Small Business Owners today, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. The free event includes vendors, food trucks, and live music from Mike Williams on SAX and DJ Steven Wolfe. (WTVG)

  • Isaiah Fuller, 45, has been indicted for the May murder of 40-year-old Gerrard Jackson. Jackson was found suffering head trauma in the 1300 block of Fitchland Avenue near Sylvan Avenue. (WTOL)
  • OhioMeansJobs, the Lucas County Dept. of Planning and Development and Jeep are hosting a job fair on Tuesday, July 19. Positions offer $17 an hour pay and the event runs from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. (WTOL)
  • The City of Toledo Department of Economic Development is offering $500,000 to renovate first-floor commercial spaces to local building owners. (Toledo City Paper)
  • Local company Miller Diversified has announced their change to a four-day work week to better accommodate work-life balance and lessen the costs of production. (Toledo.com)
  • Tickets are still available for this year's St. Jude Dream Home Givewaway. The $550,000 home is in Sylvania Township and 100% of the proceeds will go to the children's hospital established by Toledo icon Danny Thomas. (WTOL)
