Cincinnati taxpayers and users of its parking facilities will pay exorbitant fees for 30 years under the terms of its recently approved parking operations lease unless the area’s port authority pulls the plug.
Unfortunately, the Cincinnati City Council didn’t know that when it passed the enabling ordinance.

On Sunday, WCPO’s Kevin Osborne revealed that “A memo by Cincinnati’s parking consultant that is highly critical of the deal to lease city-owned parking assets was kept from City Council and the Port Authority until after the lease was signed.”
The bad news was delivered in a nightmarish six-page memo to City Manager Milton Dohoney Jr. from Indianapolis-based Walker Parking Consultants on June 20.
