Why Go: Celebrate St. Patrick's Day early with a weekend of entertainment, food and beverage at the local home of everything Irish. Enjoy half-price bottles of wine on Thursday and clam bake dinners on Friday and Saturday for $22.99 per person.

Pricing: Entertainment free for restaurant guests.

2. Akron Irish Cultural Fest

Where/When: Lock 3, 200 S. Main St., downtown Akron.

Friday, Sept. 16, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 17, noon to 10 p.m.

Why Go: Largest area official Irish event celebrating St. Patrick's Day early. Sponsored by the Summit County Hibernians. Enjoy Irish food, beverages, dancers, cultural activities and historical displays. Hear live bands both days and witness, or take part in the bagpipes jam session Saturday night with Red Rebel Country.

Pricing: Free admission and free parking. Open to the public.

3. Ingenuity Fest

Where/When: Veterans Memorial Bridge (Detroit-Superior Bridge), downtown Cleveland.

Friday, Sept. 16, 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Saturday, Sept. 17, noon to 1 a.m.

Sunday, Sept. 18, noon to 5 p.m.

Why Go: One of Cleveland's most cutting-edge annual events featuring a combination of technology, art, music, dance, design, education and interactive media. More than 60 bands scheduled. Don't miss the Squonk Opera outdoor performance of Astro-rama. See the comedy stage with interactive Twitter wall.

Pricing: Event is free and open to the public.

Where/When: Twin Haven, 10439 Ravenna Rd., Twinsburg.

Saturday, Sept. 17, 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Why Go: This is a fundraiser with proceeds going to the Twinsburg Public Library Foundation. Enjoy a fresh BBQ dinner while the sounds of country music fill the air. Music by the band, Post Road. Take part in the line-dancing and 50/50 raffle.

5. Akron Symphoy Orchestra: Opening Night

Where/When: E.J. Thomas Hall, 198 Hill St., downtown Akron.

Saturday, Sept. 17, 8 p.m.

Why Go: Be there for the start of the orchestra's new year. Conductor Christopher Wilkins leads the talented group in performances of pieces by Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky and Sibelius. The symphony celebrates 60 years of music this season.

Pricing: $20, $30 and $50

6. Music From the Western Reserve: Jason Vieaux

Where/When: Christ Church Episcopal, 21 Aurora St., Hudson.

Sunday, Sept. 18, 5 p.m.

Why Go: This nationally recognized classical guitar virtuoso's 2009 release debuted at No. 13 on Billboard's Classical Chart. Vieaux is a Clevelander, and is head of The Cleveland Institute of Music - Guitar Department.

Pricing: $15 general admission. Open to the public. All ages.
