Active Citizens of Twinsburg (ACT) Launches Public Records Portal

Requesting ‘transparency’ in financial reporting over five months ago from the Mayor and City Council to place basic financial reports on the City website has fallen on deaf ears!  Therefore, the Active Citizens of Twinsburg (ACT) chaired by Sally Gaydosh have elected to provide this service to the citizens of Twinsburg at their recently launched website:  www.activecitizensoftwinsburg.com .  We encourage any residents interested in reviewing the City budgets, financial reports, vendor spending reports, and payroll information to check out the website and become a frequent visitor.  As Thomas Jefferson was noted to say “Information is the currency of Democracy”.  The ACT has taken this to heart by providing the public with a portal to access public records.  There is no need for the Mayor and Council to thank us for this valuable public service, we are more than happy to help in providing this information to the public and our neighbors.

The State of Ohio, House of Representatives is moving HB’s 321-324 along the legislative path and we encourage all citizens to review and support these bills.  These House Bills will make uniformity in presenting and publishing financial public records on the internet so that the public can be informed and aware of their government’s use of tax dollars.  We applaud and support representatives Duffey and Hagan for their efforts in the campaign for ‘Transparency’ and public access to all government financial records and reports.  Amen and Hallelujah!  Our state representatives are listening to the people, perhaps the Mayor and Council could learn from their example.  We always have Hope.
