Teen Shoots Cars With Slingshot, Ends Up in Handcuffs

Boys will be boys.
Twinsburg Police were called on Sunday, Aug. 28 when a caller said a car full of kids was shooting at other cars with a slingshot on Ravenna and Darrow Roads.
The reporting officer found and pulled over the car with four juvenile boys inside. Police identified who the shooter was from the description given by the caller and asked the 16-year-old Elyria boy in question where the slingshot was, when he responded, "What slingshot?" saying he didn't know what the officer was talking about.

Another boy in the car told police who was shooting it and where it was. The slingshot was found behind the driver's seat inside a baseball hat with several pennies.
The three other boys in the car were released and their parents were called. The slingshot shooter was arrested and taken to the police station, charged with criminal damaging and endangering.

According to the report, when he contacted his parents, he told them he was shooting at stop signs. He also asked for a lawyer and refused to answer any questions.
Police said the boys were coming from Aurora from a baseball game. No drivers have claimed damage to their vehicles.
