$100K Of Marijuana Oil Found In Westlake Motel

Police said they arrested a Michigan man for manufacturing and trafficking the drugs.

WESTLAKE, OH — Approximately $100,000 of THC/cannabis oil cartridges were found in a vehicle in the parking lot of the Red Roof Inn. Police said a Michigan man has been arrested and charged with trafficking of drugs.

A police spokesperson said officers noticed suspicious behavior in the parking lot of the motel at about 8:30 a.m. on November 3. A vehicle leaving the lot was followed after it began committing traffic violations, and police pulled the car over.

A police K9 was brought to the scene and sniffed the stopped car. The dog indicated police should search the vehicle.

More than one kilogram of illegal THC/cannabis oil cartridges were found in the car. Police then investigated a room at the Red Roof Inn where the suspect in the car had been staying.

Inside the room, police found indications the man had been manufacturing the drugs. Beakers with written instructions were scattered about the motel room. Police also said they found another three kilograms of THC oil.

A 26-year-old Michigan man from Napolean was charged with trafficking and illegal manufacturing of drugs, both felony charges. A 25-year-old Bay Village woman, who rented the room for the man, was charged with felony complicity for the same offenses.

Police said they estimated the total recovered drugs would sell for more than $100,000 on the streets.
