2 Westlake Businesses Broken Into, Money Taken
Starz Ballroom and D'Italia were both burgled around the New Year's holiday.

WESTLAKE, OH — Police are investigating break-ins at two Westlake businesses. The burglar got into both establishments through a window.
On New Year's Day, at 6:50 p.m., a burglar alarm went off at D'Italia on Detroit Road. By the time officers arrived, the suspects were already gone.
Police investigated the break-in and determined the suspects had gotten into the catering and carry-out restaurant by breaking a window and climbing through. The next day, a business just five minutes away from D'Italia was also broken into.

The Starz Ballroom on Sperry Drive reported that someone broke into their business. The break-in was discovered Jan. 2 at noon.
Police haven't identified any suspects yet, but they determined the burglar got in by breaking a rear window on the dance studio. The owner of Starz Ballroom believes the break-in occurred over the long weekend, and not necessarily on Jan. 2.
