2 Westlake Companies Make Forbes Best Employers

WESTLAKE, OH — Two companies in the city have been named to Forbe's best employers list. Hyland Software is the 29th best mid-sized company in the nation, while new-resident American Greetings is the 286th best large employer.

For Hyland, it's the latest in a long list of accolades for the company. Consistently ranked on the NorthCoast 99 and Fortune's 100 Best Places to Work lists, the addition of the Forbes award will make the company's award shelf a little more crowded.

American Greetings, with approximately 28,400 employees, moved to Westlake in late September 2016. The newish building is a 660,000 square-foot, five-story world headquarters for the family-owned company. The move into Westlake was nearly six years in the making.

We spent time touring Hyland's sprawling Westlake campus in March. Other than the bevy of slides that seem curl around every staircase, the employees seemed genuinely at ease. They wore jeans and T-shirts and played ping pong in an employee break room.
